The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) is preparing for autumn tree planting. Nurseries in the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) grow wild seedlings with special care, which will soon be found in the wild, growing into edible forests.

As part of our reforestation program, we grow 4 species of wild tree seedlings: wild pear, wild apple, wild almond and wild oleaster.
Our specialists collect the seeds directly from the wild, which are later returned to the wild, becoming a wild edible forest.
FPWC produces native plant seedlings using the Target Plant Concept (TPC) method. The TPC provides a framework for defining, producing, and handling native plant seedlings based on morphological and physiological characteristics suited to particular planting environments. By selecting seed from local plant populations and carefully culturing seedlings in the nursery, seedlings are adapted to where they are planted and, coupled with the other attributes of plant quality that are emphasized, survival is exceptionally high. The project has been implemented by the FPWC since 2016 using the Target Plant Concept (TPC) method. So far, the FPWC has planted more than 350,000 trees in Armenia.
