A few days ago a fire broke out in the territory of “Khosrov Forest” state reserve, next to which is the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) teritory. The cause of the fire was probably lightning. Together with the ranger of “Khosrov Forest” state reserve, the CWR forester first came to extinguish the fire.

As a result of a quick response, to the fireplace also arrived the other employees of the reserve and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of RA. The together carried out firefighting works and after a while, the fire was completely extinguished due to the rain.

CWR is a privately protected area managed by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC).

The details of the incident will be known soon, but, according to preliminary information, about 40 junipers have burned.
